Lancaster Newspapers Inc. has named Robert Krasne as president and publisher, the company said this week.

He was named interim CEO of Lancaster Newspapers Inc. in September, following the retirement the previous month of President and CEO Harold “Chip” Miller.

Krasne is vice chairman of the boards of directors of the Steinman family’s media and printing companies, which include Lancaster Newspapers Inc., Lancaster Farming Inc., Lancaster County Weeklies Inc., Intelligencer Printing Co. and Delmarva Broadcasting.

Collectively, the companies are known informally as Steinman Communications, formerly Steinman Enterprises. They are privately held.

Lancaster Newspapers announced two other executive appointments in recent days: It promoted Nancy Fisher to vice president of finance and administration and named Shane Zimmerman to the post of senior vice president.

Zimmerman will assist the Steinmans with management of their businesses, finances and philanthropy, according to LancasterOnline.com.

Lancaster Newspapers publishes the Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era daily newspaper and the Sunday News, and it operates LancasterOnline.com.

The company said it plans to redesign the newspapers and website in coming months and introduce “a new, interactive digital replica of the newspaper.”
