While the luck of the Irish is celebrated only on March 17, the magic of the Mason-Dixon Wine Trail is celebrated all month long. And by “magic” I mean the wine featured on the trail’s Tour de Tanks event, which includes tank and barrel tastings from 26 wineries.

This is the best way to spend my weekends in March if I ever heard one! A flat $25 ticket gets you in the wineries’ cellar doors as many times as you like. That includes winery tours and tastings, light snacks and a wine glass that’s yours to keep. (By now I’m growing a collection of these!) Your ticket also gets you a 10 percent discount on wine purchases, so stock up while you’re there. How’s that for saving some green?

For those looking to honor the Irish while wining, there are a few options for you on the trail. At The Vineyard at Hershey, “Magical Mike” will be making an appearance in his lucky green suit. Trust me, it’s a sight to see. Green wine slushies will be on tap and there will be hidden golden event tickets for St. Patrick's Day. Oooh! Also, The Vineyard at Grandview will offer a green version of its signature rock candy spritzers for St. Patrick’s Day.

Use this handy interactive trail map to pick a route to these wineries and the full list below. My wino friends and I like to carpool, which makes touring the trail exponentially more fun. And at the end of the month, we often revisit our favorite wineries. Hey, it’s allowed! Where will you begin your Tour de Tanks?
