Last week's question: Would a change in the charitable tax deduction alter how you give? Tell us why or why not.

Yes — 75 percent

No — 25 percent

From Twitter:

yes. w/deductions, each dollar donated costs about 70 cents. which means I can donate more, ie 1.30 donated costs just 1.00.

From our Facebook page:

As the business manager of a church, I can promise that if the deduction is limited in any way it would constrict giving. Unfortunately, many people give not because of the mission of a nonprofit organization, but because of the tax advantages. That is why a large portion of our donations come in during the last week of December.
