Social Neuroscience, which publishes peer-reviewed research investigating how the brain mediates social behavior, named Paul Eslinger editor-in-chief. He is a professor with the departments of radiology and neurology, neural and behavioral sciences at Penn State College of Medicine and has a doctorate from Texas Christian University.
Harrisburg-based PinnacleHealth System named Dr. George H. Beauregard senior vice president and chief clinical officer. He will focus on clinical integration across the system and accountable care organization readiness. He has 16 years of experience, most recently as president and chief medical officer of Southcoast Physicians Network. He has a medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Maine. Dr. James J. Bleicher was named president of the PinnacleHealth Medical Group. He practiced internal medicine for 10 years before becoming the CEO of a multispecialty practice. Mark C. Barabas was named senior vice president of operations for the West Shore Hospital. He will oversee opening the hospital, including selecting and training employees, purchasing and installing equipment and integrating the hospital into the system. He has more than 30 years of experience, most recently as president and chief operating officer of Erie County Medical Center Corp. in Buffalo, N.Y. He has a master's-equivalent degree in hospital administration from the University of Toronto. Tom Stoessel was named senior vice president of business development. He was senior vice president and chief strategy officer at Mount Nittany Health System in State College. He has an MBA from Penn State University's Smeal College of Business.
