The president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, Charles Plosser, will be the featured speaker at next week's annual meeting of the Economic Development Company of Lancaster County and EDC Finance Corp.

Plosser "will provide EDC membership with his insights on our national economic outlook," according to the event invitation. The meeting will be 7:30-9 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, at the DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Lancaster on Willow Street Pike.

Plosser sits on the Federal Open Market Committee, the board charged with setting monetary policy. He is considered a inflation hawk and has strongly opposed the Fed's monetary easing of the past few years.

He will be the second FOMC member to visit Lancaster in less than a month. On Feb. 13, Richmond Fed President Jeffrey Lacker delivered a speech at his alma mater, Franklin & Marshall College.
