Weaver Masonry assets sold; new firm formed
Some changes have been made at the Weaver family-owned companies in Ephrata Township.
Nevin Weaver has purchased the majority of the assets of Weaver Masonry Inc., according to a news release.
Weaver Masonry Inc. will close down shortly, according to a statement. Nevin Weaver is setting up a new company, NR Weaver Masonry, “which will continue to focus on the traditional, highly skilled craft of masonry construction,” the release said.
Ongoing projects will not be affected, the release said.
The Weaver family also owns and operates Weaver Precast Inc. Gary Weaver has been president of both companies since 1990, the release said. He will remain president of Weaver Precast and focus his energy on that market.
Gary Weaver has worked in the Weaver businesses since 1976, Nevin Weaver since 1978. The two men are cousins.
“This is a strategic move that allows each business to focus more effectively on its own market,” Gary Weaver said in a statement.
NR Weaver Masonry will operate out of the existing Weaver site in Ephrata Township.
Gary Weaver’s grandfather and father founded Weaver Masonry in 1958. The Weavers added Weaver precast in 1985.
