Former PennDOT manager to oversee CAT tech
Capital Area Transit today said it has appointed Brandon Eshenour, a former manager with PennDOT, to be the authority's customer experience manager overseeing various route and technology initiatives.
Eshenour, a 2007 graduate of Millersville University, was hired by CAT in February after he spent three years with PennDOT, where he worked in public transportation, safety oversight and grant applications.
The customer experience manager is a new position but will be important for overseeing route scheduling and ongoing updates to CAT’s technology, spokesman Robert Philbin said. Eshenour will work on CAT’s onboard technology for bus services as well as real-time tracking and ticketing technology, he said. Planning for the bus services also will be part of his duties, Philbin said.
Increased efficiency through technology has been an important initiative for all of Central Pennsylvania’s transit authorities in recent years, but tight money from state and federal sources has slowed some projects.
