Webber/Smith Associates Inc. will move to Manheim Township
Webber/Smith Associates Inc. has announced that it will soon be moving from its present quarters at Greenfield Corporate Center in East Lampeter Township to a complex it has purchased in Manheim Township near the Lancaster Airport.
The former Triple H Construction site at 20 Wright Ave. is undergoing renovation and construction by EG Stoltzfus. Webber/Smith said its redesign features collaborative work areas and teaming rooms “to provide the best communication and coordination within our design team so we can provide the highest quality service to all our clients.”
Steve Shaub, who owns the company with chairman Garry Smith and president Keith Shollenberger, said the modifications include things such as cubicles that are just 4.5 feet high, so employees can more easily communicate with each other.
Shaub said the company, which has about 35 employees, has been at Greenfield since 2000 and began considering options last year as its lease neared an end.
“It was a matter of do we stay where we’re at or do we build or do we buy,” he said. “With the way the economy’s been, we figured there’s probably some vacant office space out there, and we found one.”
The property also includes a 56,000-square-foot building with truck bays and a fenced-in area that Webber/Smith would like to lease out, Shaub said.
Webber/Smith will close for the move Feb. 22 and reopen in its new location Feb. 25.
“Our company is still growing after 34 years in business and we're not stopping now,” says a statement on the company’s website. “We are very excited for this positive move and look forward to continuing our dedicated services to the food industry.”
Webber/Smith is a multidiscipline planning and engineering firm specializing in food distribution and public cold storage facilities. It has an affiliate, AE Design Inc., which also provides architectural and engineering services focusing exclusively on projects for the food industry.
