Ranker-Hanshaw growing, moving to Cumberland County

Ranker-Hanshaw Financial Group Inc. is moving its main office to Cumberland County in February as the firm continues to grow its business and expand its staff.

The Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County-based financial services and wealth-management company more than doubled in managed assets and employees since 2009 and needs more office space, managing partner Taylor Ranker said.

On Feb. 6, Ranker-Hanshaw will move to the larger office at 1200 Camp Hill Bypass in East Pennsboro Township to accommodate its growth. The building is owned by Capozzi & Associates law firm, with which Ranker-Hanshaw has a partnership to offer legal services to its clients, Ranker said.

Ranker-Hanshaw’s managed assets have grown from $90 million to $300 million, and staff expanded from six to 15 people, he said. So many financial management firms lost business or went out of business during the recession that firms such as Ranker-Hanshaw, with a more selective and individualized approach, gained many new clients after 2009, he said.

“You’re not a part of a herd,” he said.

Ranker-Hanshaw’s growth has it adding offices, too. It recently opened an Allentown office through its affiliate Boyer Financial Group, Ranker said. Ranker-Hanshaw also plans to add a smaller Harrisburg office in the near future to continue its presence there, he said.
