Pa. Dutch visitors bureau appoints new president
The Pennsylvania Dutch Convention & Visitors Bureau has named Kathleen Frankford its new president.
Frankford, the vice president of sales and marketing at American Music Theatre, is wrapping up her work there and will start at the bureau Jan. 28, the Lancaster County tourism promotion organization said in an email sent to its members late Friday.
Her appointment "culminates an extensive search process," the email said.
The bureau's previous president was Chris Barrett, who resigned abruptly in July to "pursue other opportunities." In the interim, managing director of sales Mike Messina and vice president Janet Wall led the bureau. Wall left Jan. 1 to take a position in Virginia, bureau spokesman Joel Cliff said in an email.
Frankford's resume encompasses two decades of promoting midstate destinations, the bureau said, including work as director of marketing for the Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Co., tourism director at the Cumberland Valley Visitors Bureau and vice president of marketing and sales at Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts.
