Matt Boyer has been named the new executive director of Commuter Services of Pennsylvania.

Boyer is employed by URS Corp., a California-based company with its transportation demand management branch based in Georgia, he said.

He had worked for former U.S. Rep. Tim Holden, a Democrat whose final term in office recently ended.

URS is contracted by the Susquehanna Regional Transportation Partnership to staff its program known as Commuter Services of Pennsylvania, Boyer said.

His role includes leading outreach efforts to commuters and employers in the region and helping to develop and implement the nonprofit's services.

Commuter Services of Pennsylvania was launched in 2004 and works with commuters and employers to encourage using public transit, carpooling, biking, walking, vanpooling or telecommuting.
