Officials will unveil today the 3,000-square-foot building renovation and laboratory build out at YTI Career Institute's Springettsbury Township campus that supports the area's first veterinary technician program, according to a news release.

The event, scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the campus in York County, is the launch of the program to train students for what is projected to be one of the fastest-growing occupations nationwide in coming years, the release stated.

The 21-month program will teach animal anatomy and physiology, nutrition, nursing, and other skills for various animal species through classroom and laboratory training, the release stated.

Students also will gain off-site experience with large animals at locations in York County.
