The Pie Guy's Cafe in New Cumberland closes

By , - Last modified: December 27, 2012 at 11:40 AM

The Pie Guy's Café, a New Cumberland restaurant and bakery, has closed its doors after less than a year in business, citing not enough customers and Bridge Street construction as reasons, according to its Facebook page.

The café at 316 Bridge St. had its last day on Christmas Eve, according to the posting.

Frank and Lisa Pascale opened Pie Guy’s Café in July after operating a bakery stand at the West Shore Farmers’ Market for 12 years, according to published reports. Earlier in the year, they sold the pie recipes to Reuben and Anna Zook, who operate Zook's Gourmet Pies and Cakes at the market. The Pascales sold those pies at the café in addition to an assortment of their own baked goods.

The Pascales did not immediately return messages seeking additional information about the café’s closing.
