Bortek acquires fifth cleaning equipment company in five years

Cumberland County-based cleaning-equipment distribution company Bortek Industries Inc. has acquired Lincoln Service & Equipment Co., a similar Connecticut-based distributor of power-cleaning equipment for commercial and industrial uses.

“Bortek has continued growing and expanding during these most turbulent times. This acquisition is a mutual success, and we look forward to working with our new associates at Lincoln Service & Equipment Company as we anticipate the benefits of this milestone in 2013 and beyond,” President and CEO Joseph Carotenuto said in a statement.

The companies are not releasing financial details of the acquisition, Carotenuto said. Lower Allen Township-based Bortek will continue to be headquartered in the midstate. The acquisition was Bortek’s fifth such deal in as many years, he said.

The deal will allow Bortek to expand its service areas in New England, lower New York, and north and central New Jersey, which are Lincoln’s primary service areas. Bortek plans to make a significant investment to build new branches and modernize existing ones.

Bortek employs more than 90 people at five warehouses in Pennsylvania, two in New Jersey and one in Connecticut, according to the company.
