House committee chair changes to include energy, commerce

Appointments to leadership posts on state House committees for the 2013-14 session include new names filling the Republican and Democratic chair positions on environmental resources and energy, as well as commerce.

State Rep. Ron Miller, R-York County, is slated to become the Republican chairman of the House environmental resources and energy committee, according to a news release.

State Rep. Greg Vitali, D-Delaware County, is set to become the Democratic chairman.

Miller's post as the Republican chairman of the House labor and industry committee is to be filled by state Rep. Mario Scavello, R-Monroe County.

State Rep. Bill Keller, D-Philadelphia County, is to retain his position as Democratic chairman of the committee.

On the commerce committee, state Rep. Chris Ross, R-Chester County, is to fill the Republican chairman post, and state Rep. W. Curtis Thomas, D-Philadelphia County, is to fill the Democratic chairman position.

The appointments are not official until they announced on the House floor, according to the release.
