The new owners of the Harrisburg Mall have executed a lease with fast-casual food chain Taco Bell to join the Swatara Township mall's food court in 2013.

Maryland-based St. John Properties Inc. and Petrie Ross Ventures acquired the Harrisburg Mall in June from a group of banks led by New Jersey- and Maine-based TD Bank subsidiary Coba Inc.

The owners are investing in exterior improvements as part of a mall repositioning. The goal is to attract more national retailers. Adding to the diversity in the food court has been another piece of the revitalization effort, officials said.

"We continue to seek, and have experienced strong interest from, additional fast-casual retailers that will further improve the selection and variety of our food choices," Bill Russell, the mall's director, said in a statement.

Taco Bell is slated to open by the first quarter.
