Yazoo Mills opens Hanover-area facility

By - Last modified: December 3, 2012 at 10:52 AM

Yazoo Mills Inc., a paper tubes and cores manufacturer based in Adams County, has opened its new 45,000-square-foot facility in the Hanover area, according to the company.

Excavation for the facility began this spring at 800 Gitts Run Road, and it houses mailing tubes, stock cores and raw materials, Yazoo Mills said.

The York County facility also will allow the firm to broaden its production capabilities and product lines, it said.

The company began in 1902 in Yazoo City, Miss., before eventually moving to Pennsylvania, according to its website.

Yazoo Mills said earlier this year that once the new site was completed, it would operate two facilities totaling 195,000 square feet.

Adams County-based Conewago Enterprises Inc. was the contractor for the project, Yazoo Mills said.
