In brief: Capital Medical Center opens in Susquehanna Township

By ,

The $8 million Capital Medical Center, a medical arts complex in the Capital Center business park in Susquehanna Township, officially opened Nov. 13 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The 24,000-square-foot building off Kohn Road is home to Schein Ernst Eye Associates, Stratis Gayner Plastic Surgery, and the Capital Surgery and Laser Center.

The disciplines that will practice at the center include ophthalmology, plastic surgery, podiatry and pain management.

"It adds to who we are as a region," said David Black, president and CEO of the Harrisburg Regional Chamber and Capital Region Economic Development Corp., stressing access to quality health care services.

Susquehanna Township-based Laughner Patel Developers was the project manager on the center, which will employ about 50 people. Wormleysburg-based Pyramid Construction Services Inc. was the general contractor on the project.
