YTI Career Institute will launch a veterinary technician training program in February 2013 at its York County campus.

The program will be the only one within a 50-mile radius and comes amid the growing demand for veterinary technicians, a news release stated.

The 21-month program will prepare graduates for jobs as veterinary technicians in veterinary practices, universities, research facilities, pharmaceutical companies, zoos and elsewhere, according to the release.

Adding the program includes a 3,000-square-foot laboratory build-out and building renovation at the campus in York County.
