A Montgomery County company has tapped York businessman George H. Glatfelter II to chair its board of directors.
Met-Pro Corp. is separating the formerly united roles of chairman and CEO, the firm said today. The company’s board elected Glatfelter, its lead director, as chairman, while Raymond J. De Hont, chairman and CEO since 2003, will be president, CEO and a board member, Met-Pro said.
Separating the board chair and CEO roles “is consistent with today’s corporate governance best practices,” De Hont said in a statement. “This action will allow me to devote all of my energy and attention to the leadership and management of the company.”
Glatfelter was CEO of York paper products manufacturer P.H. Glatfelter Co. until retiring at the end of 2010 and was chairman of its board until May 2011. He has served on Met-Pro’s board since 2004, Met-Pro said.
Based in Lower Salford Township, Met-Pro sells filtration, fluid handling, pollution control and product recovery equipment to clients worldwide. Its shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol MPR.
