Gov. Tom Corbett will lead a delegation of business, university and tourism stakeholders next spring on a business development mission to South America, according to a news release.
The trip in April to Brazil and Chile, called two of the world’s fastest-growing economies, will be privately funded and concentrated on forming new economic opportunities and job growth, according to the release.
It is part of the governor’s Jobs First initiative and is organized by the state Department of Community and Economic Development in partnership with the Team Pennsylvania Foundation, the release stated.
The mission will focus on promoting the state’s export market and port system, attracting foreign investment, recruiting international students and marketing the commonwealth as a tourism destination, according to the release.
Put together, the two countries are the state’s seventh-largest export destination, the release stated.
