Cumberland County-based Giant Food Stores today said it is opening a beer garden and eatery at its Linglestown Road store in Dauphin County.

The Giant at 2300 Linglestown Road was recently remodeled to include the beer garden and eatery after the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board granted a restaurant liquor license to the store in May.

The grocery chain said the beer garden will offer its largest selection of domestic and import beers, including craft and specialty items. Customers will also be able to “mix-a-six” or create their own six packs, Giant said.

The eatery also will include a variety of foods, including sandwiches, pizza, Chinese food, sushi, desserts and non-alcoholic beverages. The beer garden and eatery will be open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.

Giant Food Stores are a chain of Middlesex Township-based Ahold USA, a division of Netherlands-based grocer Royal Ahold.
