The Green Room Bistro & Juice Bar, Carlisle's High Street restaurant that specialized in local organic foods, said today in an email that it's closing the doors in the next couple weeks.
“It is with a sad heart that I must announce that The Green Room, in all likelihood, is closing,” owner Patrick Andrews said in the email. “We are facing a financial crisis from which we cannot recover.”
The restaurant will remain open for the next couple weeks to sell its remaining food and pay employees, but without a buyer or investors, the restaurant will close, he said. The restaurant opened in March 2010.
The Green Room will hold a roundtable discussion at the restaurant at 6 p.m. Oct. 18 to discuss how it might be saved, Andrews said in the email. He did not go into details about what led the restaurant to its current financial state.
Andrews could not immediately be reached for additional comment.
