Downtown Ephrata Inc. has received a statewide award for its facade restoration program.
The facades award is based on several components, including commitment to consistent design, extent of public-to-private leveraged dollars and quality of individual projects.
"With over 60 facade projects completed, there is no doubt that Downtown Ephrata's program was extremely successful," said Bill Fontana, executive director of the PDC. "However, it was their consistent and committed approach to components of design and historic preservation that set their program apart."
Bill Warrell, president of DEI, attributed the success of the DEI Facade Program to "the efforts of several committed and knowledgeable volunteers and the leadership and support of our DEI staff."
This Townie is the third that DEI has received in its eight-year tenure; the first was in 2007 and the second in 2008.
