Hamilton Health ribbon-cutting ceremony set for Monday

By , - Last modified: October 4, 2012 at 11:52 AM

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Monday for the new Hamilton Health Center at 110 S. 17th St. in Harrisburg.

Hamilton Health broke ground last year on the nearly $17 million, 67,000-square-foot center in Harrisburg’s Allison Hill, one of the highest-density neighborhoods in the city.

The health center serves people with lower income, including many who are uninsured or under-insured. Demand for its services has been on a rapid rise, according to center data.

This first phase included dental exam rooms, women’s services, adult medicine, an on-site pharmacy, diagnostic lab, imaging services and a community town hall meeting room.

Hamilton Health is raising money for a second phase, which will involve pediatric rooms, a social services area, behavioral health, education rooms, administrative offices and meeting rooms.
