In brief: Employment Skills Center receives donated computers

The Carlisle-based nonprofit Employment Skills Center, which helps adults with training and education needs for the workplace, has received a donation of computers and software from Members 1st Federal Credit Union and the Rotary Club of Carlisle.

Lower Allen Township-based Members 1st donated 15 computers to the center, and Rotary matched it by having the computers fully outfitted with software, according to Rotary.

The groups unveiled the new computers Wednesday at the center's 29 S. Hanover St. location.

Employment Skills Center, founded in 1967, has assisted more than 14,000 adults in Carlisle and Cumberland County with education and training. Center programs focus on education, training, workforce development and basic computer skills.
