Sweet Frog froyo planning fifth midstate location

By , - Last modified: September 27, 2012 at 9:27 AM

Virginia-based Sweet Frog Premium Frozen Yogurt is opening its fifth Central Pennsylvania location with a shop in the Shrewsbury Square Shopping Center in southern York County.

A 10-year lease has been signed for a 2,400-square-foot retail space in the center, according to York-based Bennett Williams Realty Inc.

Sweet Frog has four other locations in Cumberland, Lancaster and York counties. The Shrewsbury shop will be the chain’s third in York County.

The chain is part of a growing self-serve frozen yogurt trend where customers can mix soft-serve yogurt flavors and add their own toppings. The cost of the dessert is based on the weight.

Other franchise companies have begun looking at this area to expand. Independent frozen yogurt stores also have opened recently.
