East Pennsboro Township-based Rite Aid Corp. is marking its 50th anniversary with a six-month “RA50” celebration featuring 50 acts of wellness.
RA50 begins today at the state Capitol, with free healthful breakfast snacks followed by a wellness fair, a governor’s proclamation and presentation of wellness packages to the Capitol Police force.
Tomorrow, RA50 will visit Harrisburg School District, restocking all 11 of its nurse offices. The final Harrisburg event will be at the Latino American Hispanic Community Center's Block Party, 1319 Derry St., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 15.
RA50 will then move on to Baltimore, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Scranton, Cleveland, Detroit, Portland, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Norfolk and New York City, addressing specific community health and wellness needs.
The third-largest drugstore chain in the nation, Rite Aid has been focusing on customer rewards programs and adapting to the changing market while contending with debt and a long string of consecutive quarterly loss.
