State to auction more than 520 vehicles, including commercial vehicles

The state Department of General Services will auction more than 520 vehicles on Monday, department Secretary Sheri Phillips said today.

The auction, one of the department’s largest ever, will begin at 10 a.m. at Manheim Auto Auctions, 488 Firehouse Road in East Hanover Township, Dauphin County, Phillips said in a statement. Registration opens two hours before the auction begins.

Among the vehicles are 126 that the state Department of Transportation acquired from a dealership for a road-widening project.

“These vehicles are the same as you would buy from a dealership, and they present a great opportunity for a bidder to purchase a road-ready vehicle at a fair price,” Phillips said.

Potential buyers may view the vehicles from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Sunday at the auction site. Full information is available on the department’s website.
