Swatara Township-based Traffic Control Services has purchased the former Arcus staffing facility for its new headquarters, according to company officials and Dauphin County property records.
The company, which does business as Flagger Force, started in 2002 with three people as a part-time temporary traffic control provider. It has grown to be a nationally known company with more than 900 employees, including 850 field employees, said Michael Doner, the company’s vice president and co-owner.
The $2.25 million purchase of the property at 8170 Adams Drive in Swatara Township was finalized Wednesday, property records show. The roughly 28,000-square-foot property had been listed for $2.5 million, according to a listing from Wormleysburg-based NAI CIR.
Doner is the manager of Doner Enterprises, a general partner of TCS Property Management LP. TCS took out a $1.8 million mortgage with Metro Bank to purchase the office facility from Arcus Holdings LP.
Last August, the Business Journal reported that Florida-based MDT Personnel, a national staffing firm acquired the U.S. operations of Arcus, a provider of information technology staffing and consulting solutions.
Arcus moved all operations to Costa Rica.
Doner said Traffic Control Services has received word it will be included in this year’s Inc. 500 and Inc. 5000, rankings for the fastest-growing private companies in the country.
“We continue to invest in our people, facilities and equipment,” he said via email.
The new headquarters will allow the company to continue its mission of becoming a national leader in safety and work zone education and services, Doner said.
The company plans to continue operating its facility on Stoneridge Drive as an operations and dispatch center, he said. It also will be repurposed as a company training facility.
