By , - Last modified: June 28, 2012 at 6:05 PM

The Hilton Harrisburg — a catalyst for revitalization of the capital city's downtown more than 20 years ago — could be changing hands as early as tomorrow.

City spokesman Robert Philbin today said a news conference involving Mayor Linda Thompson and the new owners could happen by Friday afternoon.

An application for the transfer of the hotel’s liquor license is pending with the state.

The applicants are 2012 Harrisburg Investment LLC and Greenwood Hospitality Management LLC.

Officials listed on the pending transfer include principals and partners with Colorado-based Greenwood Hospitality Group, a hotel investment and management company that acquires and repositions upscale, full-service hotels.

Also listed is William Kohl, president and CEO of Harrisburg Hotel Corp., managing general partner of the Hilton Harrisburg.

The Hilton is owned by Harristown Development Corp., which also owns the Strawberry Square shopping center.

Officials from Harristown and Greenwood could not be reached for comment.
