Promotions, appointments and hires


Barton Associates Inc. of York named John Snyder a computer-aided drafting and design technician. He has an associate degree in CADD from York Technical Institute. Dane Heimerman was named an HVAC designer with the State College office. He is an engineer-in-training with three years of experience and a BS in mechanical engineering from Michigan Technological University.


Lebanon County-based Jonestown Bank & Trust Co. named Tim Gingrich vice president of operations and information technology. He will oversee information technology, deposit operations, electronic banking and facilities. He has more than 30 years of IT banking experience.

Emerald Asset Management Inc. named John J. Smith III a vice president with subsidiary Emerald Advisers. He will sell and distribute institutional and retail products, including the Emerald Mutual Funds. Between 2001 and 2005, he was a senior vice president with Emerald Advisers. Most recently, he was vice president and director of sales with Global Capital Management. He has a bachelor’s degree in food marketing from St. Joseph’s University.

Perry County-based Bank of Landisburg named Patti L. McLaughlin a commercial loan officer. She has 24 years of banking experience, most recently as a vice president and commercial loan officer with the First National Bank of Mifflintown.


Wohlsen Construction Co. of Lancaster named Ronald J. Fox Jr. director of preconstruction. He has 29 years of construction experience and a bachelor’s degree in construction management from Drexel University.

Health care

Carlisle Regional Medical Center named Jackie Duffey a certified nurse midwife with its Carlisle OB/GYN affiliate. She will provide complete pregnancy services as well as a variety of gynecological services, including pap smears, breast examinations and pre-conception counseling. She has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from West Chester University.


Montour County-based Geisinger Health Plan named Duane E. Davis CEO. He joined the company in 1978, and most recently was vice president and chief medical officer. He also is CEO of Geisinger Indemnity Insurance Co. and Geisinger Quality Options Inc., executive vice president of insurance operations with Geisinger Health System, a physician with the system’s rheumatology department and a clinical professor of medicine with Thomas Jefferson University’s Jefferson Medical College. He is a graduate of Penn State University.


Harrisburg-based Cultural Enrichment Fund elected Nancy Dering Mock chairwoman, Susan Angele chairwoman elect, Constance Foster secretary and Jonathan Williams treasurer. Debra Cohen was named immediate past chairwoman. Mock is president of Nancy Dering Inc.; Angele is deputy general counsel of The Hershey Co.; Foster is a partner with Saul Ewing LLP; Williams is a vice president and private client adviser with Wilmington Trust; and Cohen is executive vice president and chief operating officer of Capital BlueCross. Sharia Benn, Lara Brenckle, Zander Gambill, Jessica Malone and Victoria Reider were elected to the board. Benn is an underwriting manager with Penn National Insurance; Brenckle is strategic

communications lead with Harsco Corp.; Gambill is associate publisher of Journal Multimedia and the Central Penn Business Journal; Malone is vice president of private banking with Fulton Bank; and Reider is executive deputy secretary of banking with the Pennsylvania Banking Department.

The York County Community Foundation elected Michael Newsome chairman, Paul L. Rudy III vice chairman, William R. Hartman president, Marsha M. Everton secretary, Margaret Z. Swartz assistant secretary and Henry J. Christ treasurer. Newsome is executive vice president and chief financial officer of The Wolf Organization; Swartz is vice president of Olde Country Reproductions; and Christ is president and CEO of E. K. McKonkey & Co. Inc. Timothy Bupp, Betty Carson, Dr. Charles H. Chodroff, David M. Davidson, Michael H. Hady III, Ronald L. Hershner and Loren H. Kroh were elected to the board. Bupp is an attorney with CGA Law Firm; Carson is a community volunteer; Chodroff is a physician; Davidson is CFO of C.S. Davidson Inc.; Hady is vice president of business development with Memorial Hospital; Hershner is managing partner of Stock and Leader; and Kroh is president of Campus ToolKit.


Lower Allen Township-based Alphagraphics named Jen Apa a project consultant. She has more than 20 years of printing and graphics experience, most recently as a sales representative with a Middletown-based mail house. She has a bachelor’s degree in leadership and communications and a master’s degree in leadership and liberal studies from Duquesne University.

Manheim Township-based Coldwell Banker Select Professionals named R. Ashley Brunner, Ron Burkhart, Sharon Burkhart, Lyndsay Poole, Jennifer Rule and Angela Niggel sales team members with its Lancaster office. They have more than 30 years of collective experience.

Manheim Township-based Landis Homes named Sarah Short director of residency planning. She has 20 years of experience and was director of sales with Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in sociology from Gettysburg College.
