Window maker Quanta dedicating Lancaster expansion

By , - Last modified: May 31, 2012 at 11:18 AM

A midstate manufacturer of energy-efficient window systems is expanding its product line thanks to equipment procured from another local company.

Quanta Technologies Inc., based in Malvern, has been making its Insulating Glass System windows since 2010 at Burle Business Park in Lancaster. During the past nine months, the company has been expanding its footprint at Burle and installing robotic manufacturing systems designed by Joseph Machine Co., Quanta said in a statement.

Joseph Machine, based near Dillsburg, makes saws and equipment for fabricating windows, solar panel frames and similar products.

Quanta will use the equipment to make a new product line intended for installation on the interior side of existing windows. The product is aimed at retrofits on historic properties and other projects where maintaining the exterior look is important, Quanta said.

Quanta is holding a ceremony today at the expanded Burle facility. The site is being dedicated to York native Michael Neff, Quanta’s former chief financial officer, who died unexpectedly in July.
