The top three residential real estate firms in Central Pennsylvania accounted for nearly 11,500 closed transactions and more than $2 billion in combined sales volume in 2011, according to the latest Real Trends 500 ranking report.

The 2012 edition from Colorado-based Real Trends, a leading real estate consulting and analysis firm, reported 7,201 transactions and nearly $1.28 billion in closed sales volume from Manor Township-based Prudential HomeSale Services Group.

Prudential’s 2011 total was more than three times larger than No. 2 on the list of top firms in the Harrisburg, Lancaster and York area.

Lancaster-based Coldwell Banker Select Professionals was second with 2,173 transactions and more than $413 million in sales volume, the report said.

No. 3 on this year’s list is Hampden Township-based Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA, which boasted 2,090 transactions and more than $350 million in closed sales volume.

New Jersey-based NRT LLC, JGR’s parent company, topped the national list of residential real estate brokerages for the 15th consecutive year.
