The Bon-Ton Stores Inc. announced this week the retirement plans of an executive for merchandising and the addition of a new executive vice president and chief marketing officer, according to a news release.
Tony Buccina intends to retire from the position of vice chairman and president of merchandising effective Feb. 15, 2013, Bon-Ton said. Buccina has spent 20 years with the company, which will search for a new chief merchandising officer, the release stated.
Also, Bon-Ton appointed Luis Fernandez to the newly created post of executive vice president and chief marketing officer effective Monday, according to the release. He will report to President and CEO Brendan Hoffman, the release stated.
Fernandez held several positions with The Neiman Marcus Group Inc., where Hoffman spent six years as president and CEO of subsidiary Neiman Marcus Direct, Bon-Ton said.
The Bon-Ton, which has corporate offices in York County and Milwaukee, operates 272 department stores, including 11 furniture galleries, under the Bon-Ton and other names, the release stated.
