A Maryland-based developer's planned food court site in the first block of West Market Street in downtown York is listed for auction May 24, according to a posting and the developer.

Neil A. Katz said he's spread too thin with properties in York right now to handle everything without a business partner. He has sought a partner in the community for some time without success, Katz said.

The former Market Street Saloon site at 29-31 W. Market St. is marketed as a redevelopment opportunity with completed plans.

The project at Cherry Lane Park in the heart of the downtown was and still is a great opportunity, Katz said.

"The goal for everybody is to have this project done," he said.

Renovation outlines also have included part of the next-door property at 33-41 W. Market St. by way of access from the food court side to other restaurant offerings in what is known as the Rosenmiller Building, Katz said.

Rosenmiller is not up for sale and he is working to lease available space there, Katz said.

Properties at 116-118 E. Market St. and 108-112 E. Market St. also are up for sale, but Katz is sticking with 141-147 W. Market St. in addition to Rosenmiller, he said.
