The York County Economic Development Corp. has issued a nearly $1.8 million Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority loan to a Hanover-area apparel firm for the acquisition, renovation and expansion of its new facility, according to a news release.

Officials approved the loan in 2010 and the development corporation issued the loan after L&W Apparel Co. finished construction last fall in Penn Township, said J. Kenetha Hansen, executive vice president with the York County Economic Alliance.

The facility acquisition retains 47 jobs in the community and creates four, the release stated. The project cost about $3 million, according to the release.

The 20-year-old firm does business as Legacy Athletic and is one of the leading suppliers of high-quality custom headwear and accessories for the collegiate, resort and destination, camp and corporate markets, according to its website.
