In brief: Harsco gives controller job to interim appointee

Cumberland County-based Harsco Corp. named Barry E. Malamud vice president and corporate controller.

His position as controller, which he held on an interim basis since April, was made permanent as of June 2, according to Harsco. Eventually, Malamud also will add the role of principal accounting officer, the company said. He has been with the company in several management positions since 1992.

Stephen J. Schnoor, the company's vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer, was filling the controller and accounting positions on an interim basis before April 1. Schnoor was controller for the company from 1998 to 2007.

Harsco, with headquarters in Wormleysburg, provides services and products to businesses in the nonresidential construction, steel and metals, energy and railway sectors.

The company's stock is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol HSC.
