Glatfelter to resign as P.H. Glatfelter chairman

The former CEO of York-based paper products maker P.H. Glatfelter Co. will resign as chairman of the company effective May 4.


George H. Glatfelter II retired as Glatfelter’s CEO at the end of 2010. He also will not seek re-election to the company’s board of directors at the May 4 shareholders meeting, according to a news release.

The board has unanimously elected Dante Parrini, who succeeded Glatfelter as president and CEO, as the new chairman contingent upon his re-election to the board of directors at the shareholders meeting, according to the release.

Glatfelter is a global manufacturer of paper products and has a flagship paper mill in Spring Grove. Shares of the company are traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol GLT.
