Description In honor of local veterans of World War II, the town of New Oxford will stage a re-enactment of the liberation of a Dutch village by an Allied convoy.
On that Saturday morning, the center of town will travel back in time and place to the Netherlands, September 1944, a few months after the Allied armies invaded occupied France to liberate Europe from Nazi Germany.
Join the town of New Oxford for a salute to veterans from all wars starting with the Occupation at 8:30 a.m., Battle at 9 a.m., Liberation at 10 a.m. and a day long program from 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m. with militaria vendors, all-era military vehicles and living history displays, food, fun and music.
