The Stewartstown Railroad Station Museum at 21 W. Pennsylvania Ave. (Route 851) in Stewartstown, PA, will be open to the public for a holiday open house on Sunday, December 29. Hours will be 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The station's interior will be decorated for the holiday season. Carolers from the Town and Country Girl Scout troops will sing at the open house.

Visitors will be able to view an early 20th century small town train station waiting room and ticket agent’s office. A collection of historical artifacts from the Stewartstown Railroad is on display at the museum. The gift shop will be open. Railroad equipment is on display outside the station.

Weather permitting, the Stewartstown Railroad Company will be operating motorcar (“speeder”) rides during the open house. Rides will start at 1:30 p.m. and operate continuously until 4:00 p.m. Fare is $6.00 per seat. The rides are on authentic open air railroad work cars and not passenger coaches. Passengers are advised to dress appropriately for the weather.

Admission to the station museum is free; donations are welcome. The holiday open house is hosted by the Friends of the Stewartstown Railroad, an all-volunteer non-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization dedicated to preserving an authentic American antiquity - the Stewartstown Railroad.
