Description

Our 2012-2013 Leadership Lecture Series continues with Col. Carson E. R. “Spike” Holman on Thursday, January 31, 2013, at 8:00 a.m. in the Edward L. Holman Chapel on Carson Long’s campus.

Except for his time at college (Gettysburg College, and then graduating from West Point Military Academy) and his service in the Army (Ft. Benning, GA; Ft. Bragg, NC with the 82nd Airborne, as well as a year in Alaska and service as an instructor in small-unit tactics), Holman spent 68 years on campus. He also spent 26 years in the Reserves, giving him a total of 30 years of military service.

Col. Holman taught at Carson Long for 25 years; became president when his father, Col. Edward L. Holman, retired in 1971; and continued to lead the school after his father's death in 1982. He retired in 2007 and has served the school as a Trustee, a member of the Foundation Board of Directors, and a tireless advocate and supporter ever since.
